This is where it all started.

TSI is a leader in the moving and shipping industry. We’ve been on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing companies 6 times in a row. We’ve also been named in the Philadelphia Business Journal’s “Philly 100” fastest growing companies in the region.

We work with major national carriers to move items long distances - especially those that are too big for a parcel store and too small for a big moving company. We're the logistics experts you want by your side. Our extensive network offers expedited and specialty shipping across the country. On the commercial side, we also have air and ocean freight options for international service. If you need something moved or shipped, chances are we can do it for you.

  • 1989

    Our humble beginning. Transit Systems, Inc opens and exclusively services Handle With Care Packaging Stores.

  • 1991

    We expand our service offers to the entire mailing and parcel industry.

  • 1993

    After 5 years, our proven track record catches the attention of UPS. We sign on to be an approved provider of moving and shipping services.

  • 2001

    Chris Smith, the current CEO, purchases Transit Systems.

  • 2003

    Under new leadership, Transit Systems makes a switch and begins providing long distance small move services directly to consumers.

  • 2004

    We expand from national to international service, sending our first international business shipment from Muskegon, Michigan to London, England.

  • 2006

    Things start picking up. We’re named to the “Philly 100” fastest growing companies in the region.

  • 2007

    We make the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America for the first time.

  • 2009

    We open our senior move division, Moves for Seniors, to specialize in moving services for older adults and independent living communities.

  • 2011-16

    We’re named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies five more times.

  • 2013

    Our commercial division is started to provide dedicated account managers for our business clients and all UPS stores.

  • 2016

    Transit Systems, Inc rebrands to TSI and launches a new, user-friendly website and with it, a new mission to invigorate our team and embrace innovation. We expand our business relationships to include relocation companies, auction houses, and designers.

  • 2017

    We begin offering video surveys and eliminate the need for onsite estimates while ensuring quotes are accurate.
